Gonfalon - list of the events

Events when there is the official exposition and sharing of the Gonfalon

History

The gonfalons, usually called banners, are originally military emblems, that have commonly a rectangular form. These were used to co-ordinate the movements, that the single companies did on the struggle-field. Every company had, on its own gonfalon a picture or coat - of - arms, that referred to the common Patron Saint or to the arts and crafts for people, who belonged to them. The magistrate, who took care of the gonfalon, both during peace and war, was called Gonfalonier. With the birth of the modern Comune, in particularly during the public ceremonies, it's used an emblem with the coat - of - arms. The red Gonfalon of Campi has a rectangular form and its higher edge is linked to the support pole by six ribbons or loops trimmed with a golden string. The lower side is halved by two triangles with the top turned up, with golden tassels in the lower summits. The lower and lateral sides are trimmed with a golden band. The coat - of - arms of the Comune with the same red background and golden edge is surmounted by a golden civic crown.
