The new rooms

Stage Tower

The stage tower has been widened (following in part the original project by Falcini), increasing the volume towards the hall and laterally on the two sides. So a width of mt. 21.50 and a depth of stage of mt. 10.95 has been got, besides there is the back of the stage of mt. 5.10 got by the ex changing rooms (necessary for the stage depth of the lyrical theatres and the "removal" of the changes of act). The stage, realized in wood with the central part with a trapdoor, is at height 2.72-3.10 with a slope of 2.5%. The proscenium measures mt 11.50x7.40, against a width of stage of 21.50 and an height at the flies of 15.30. The manoeuvres (all from the left side) are made from the stage level and a gallery at height 12.18. It has been calculated the adoption of five gantry cranes with as many electrical pulls to replace the balanced pulls foreseen by the preliminary project. The gantry cranes, mounted on steel beams are maintained from the flies level. The stage is provided with a safety curtain that runs as a guillotine on two lines anchored to a reticular structure placed against the proscenium. On the right of the stage level, we can find the side opening for the unloading of the scenes served by a carrable flight of stairs sensibly enlarged compared to the present one to permit a smoother manoeuvre of the articulated lorries. Finally from the stage, through four exits, it's guaranteed the evacuation of actors, singers and of the potential audience in case of central scene, in addition to the connection with the stalls.
