The ombundsman is an organ of defence of the citizen in comparison with the municipal administration, a guarantor of the regularity and the well way of the administrative procedures that intervenes, also of its own initiative, signalling lacks, delays, abuses, disfunctions, irregularities, ommissions or illegitimacies about the work of the public offices.
From May 2006 the service of civic defence is effected in partnership form with the comunes of Sesto Fiorentino, Calenzano and Signa.
This means that the citizens of Campi Bisenzio who want to turn to the Ombundsman can do it also in times and places expected in the others comunes.
Until the 30th March 2006 the Ombudswoman was Mrs Maria Cristina Mangieri, who have relationed yearly to the Municipal Council the activities of her office.
