Church of Sant'Andrea a Brozzi

Church of Sant'Andrea a Brozzi - photo by Sandro Bedessi

Piazza Costituzione, 1 - San Donnino

It was built in the eleventh century, but the present building goes back to the fifteenth century, when it was rebuilt with the external porch, that mantains the original style with the portals in serena stone of the sixteenth century. On the front door, under the gable, a tablet witnesses the ancient patronage of the Mazzinghi family of Campi Bisenzio.

Taken out from the Text: Campi Bisenzio by Massimo Biagioni.

In 1966 the church underwent great damages because of the flood of the Arno river. Most of the pictures, that embellished the open gallery, are been removed and restored. Now they are inside the next Museo d'Arte Sacra.
