It's dedicated to the Saints Pietro e Paolo, who are celebrated on 29th June. At the beginning the church, that is in Romanesque style, was (a filaretto) with an only aisle, ended with a small semicircular apse. Afterwards on the left side it has been added the building of Compagnia della Madonna and, since the fifteenth century, it had a portico on the front and along the side of the road, that gave it a particular stylishness. It was completely renovated in the 70's (...), and nowadays the church has a covering with trusses, that gives a rush to the modest dimensions of the building.
Taken out from the Text: San Piero a Ponti a Campi one Church, two Patrons, one People, edited by the Associazione Campi per Campi .
The church has inside a beautiful painting of the Virgin Mary with her child of the 1300, restored in the 90's.
