Sacred Art Museum

Entrance of the Sacred Art Museum - Sandro Bedessi's photo

The Museum of Sacred Art, situated in the Art and Culture Centre of San Donnino, was born in April 2000 thanks to the initiative of the parish of Sant'Andrea and San Donnino that wanted to gather and enhance important artistic works that belonged to the two churches of this territory.

A short way in the museum
The small and fine museum extends in the portico of the fourteenth-century (probably dated back the period of the restoration of the church in 1365) and in the connected rooms, where architectonic elements of the late fourteenth century are still present like the exhibition of the stone door embellished with the coat-of-arms of the Mazzinghi family that had the patronage both on the church of S. Andrea, and on that one of San Donnino for a long time. The structure also houses two didactic laboratories, an information technolgy laboratory where it's possible to use the Internet, and a multimedia laboratory.
